Free defragmenter from the creators of CCleaner
Defraggler is a powerful defragmentation tool developed by the same people as Recuva and the almighty CCleaner.
Defraggler is easy to install and gets straight to the point. One of the features we liked most about this app is the ability to defragment individual folders and files in the Action menu. It also includes two defrag modes, Quick and Standard, with the Quick one focusing only on certain file types.
Another good thing about Defraggler is its customization options. You can set your own rules for Quick defrag, customize the Drive Map by choosing a design and setting the blocks' color and size. You can also create a personal list of all the files and folders that should be excluded from the analysis.
Defraggler can be set to turn the computer off once the disk has been defragmented, and also lets you schedule new analyses in the future. One little detail missing, however, was the ability to minimize it to the system tray.
Overall Defraggler is a great alternative to Windows' built-in defrag tool, with great customization tools - though it can be a bit slow.
Defraggler lets you analyze and defragment either individual files and folders, or the whole computer hard drive, all in a nicely designed user interface.

Defraggler is one hell of a usless program! Takes days to run where MS Defrag only takes a few minutes!

So slow that it's basically useless. It takes DAYS to clean up a single hard drive, when it shouldn't take more than an hour or so.

It is flawed and needs to be fixed!.
I have been using Defraggler for a long long time. I was almost ready to purchase the latest version, mainly because I have been using it. The latest version sucks, sorry, but once you defrag a drive, and I'm speaking of a 1tb external drive, and you don't use the drive, if you ask for Aa second defrag, it should not several hours, yes hours to perform the same defrag. This is ridiculous. Just for kicks, I defragged the same drive using Auslogic's defrag and Ultradefrag's software. In both cases, once it defragged the drive, asking it to defrag the same drive resulted in it almost immediately responding that it was 100% defragged. This is what Defraggler should do on a second pass. More

Previous version - great; latest versions - worthless!.
Terrible! I can't get it to give me less than 30% fragmentation, no matter how I tweak the settings.
Pros:
Nothing!
Cons:
Whatever it was in the previous versions that worked so well. More

Once good, now slowed to a ridiculous slow crawl.
I've been using Piriform's Defraggler for a couple of years - I started out loving it, but it's got slower & slower to the point of single (small) files taking many seconds. I've given up in exasperation and am trying out Auslogic, Smart Defrag & Ultimate Defrag
Pros:
ease of update
user-Interface, display
Cons:
speed
speed - it's really, really slow More
